BOPP stands for Bi-oriented Polypropylene Films. Though there is a wide range of plastic films available in the market, but these films are manufactured to deliver high performance, great flexibility and easy converting for flexible packaging and other applications. Its properties are very much similar to BOPET film. BOPP is a bi-axially oriented film with excellent mechanical and physical properties. Made with a clear, flexible, transparent or translucent material produced from PP polymer which is a linear, thermoplastic polypropylene resin. The low density of BOPP film makes it a cheaper alternative to its counterparts.
The best thing about this film is that it comes in a wide range of widths, thicknesses and properties and one choose basis the application needs. When it comes to availability, there are large numbers of BOPP film manufacturers available in the market that supplies high quality products at competitive rates. These films come in different types such as pigmented & caviated, co-extruded, labels, printable pigmented, overwrap, print finish, and speciality films.
There are certain advantages of using BOPP films such as good surface gloss, excellent hot tack & seal strength, anti-static, moisture barrier, and good machinability etc. It can be manufactured as a single layer or can be co-extruded with other co-polymers into a multilayer film encompassing the required characteristics of each material.
